A gated implementation with RIP-II is available for anonymous FTP from gated.cornell.edu as pub/gated/gated-alpha.tar.Z. It implements: - Multicasting packets on systems that support it - Including subnets in routes and sending subnets that do not match the net mask of the logical subnet. - Limited authentication (if the auth type is present it drops the packet) - Includes next-hop (always, it can't hurt) - Limited RD support (if it is not zero it drops the packet) - A RIP-II capable version of ripquery for asking routers what they know. It does not *yet* implement: - Full subsumption rules. - Full authentication - Full routing domain support - The MIB It has only been tested against RIP-I implementations and itself. If you pick it up and have problems or questions, send mail to gated-alpha@gated.cornell.edu. To join the list, send mail to gated-alpha-request@gated.cornell.edu. If you do not have FTP access, send mail with a subject of help to gated-alpha-archive@gated.cornell.edu for instructions on how to use the mail server. Jeff
