I also favor having the technical discussions in this meeting and postponing the decision to a later time.

OK, to be clear, 

* I am totally in favor of people understanding the technologies on offer.
* The decision rests on (at least) late-breaking news, and unavailable information, and I am opposed to any move to get a formal decision for a mandatory video codec at the meeting.
