I think Adam is just saying there is no free lunch - everything has a cost.

Some people have suggested that these codecs are FREE - nothing is for free.

Once we achieve basic interoperability additional nice to have features (even if they are perceived to be an improvement) that will involve costs to implement should be determined by implementers based on their commercial merits.

In my view G.711 is enough to ensure basic  interoperability with legacy codecs - it's at least as good as interoperability between the PSTN and these legacy systems.

Integration, testing, and perpetual maintenance have absolutely nothing to do with the IPR question. I don't see any mention of any of Integration, testing, and perpetual maintenance in any of the statements about WG responsibilities in IPR.

You are adopting the policy of saying everything you input is relevant to the argument and everything anybody else says in irrelevant.
