we submitted a individual draft that addresses the problem of Firewalls to permit UDP.
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-reddy-mmusic-stun-auth-fw-traversal-00

This draft proposes extensions to ICE connectivity checks that can be examined by the firewall to permit outgoing UDP flows across the firewall.
