Ravindran's email clearly says "is going in the direction of", not "is a
standard signalling protocol".

In general, critiquing others' statement of support on vocabulary choices is
not really helpful.  Focus on your contributions, please, rather than
assuming that others are "manipulations".  This is not useful nor collegial
behavior.
