Hi, Jeff.

We ask for 15 minutes time slot for the CUSP design team introduction and new drafts especially the requirement of protocols in CP and UP BNG devices in IETF100 RTGWG. We think it’s a meaningful work and we want to share ideas with others. It would be helpful for the work improvement if you can give us the time.

B.R.

Hi Rong,

Are you planning to provide an update at IETF100?

Regards,

Jeff

Hi, dear all.

Recently we have submitted several drafts on CU-separated BNG device. As CU-separated BNG is a bandnew architecture with a control plane (BNG-CP) and user plane (BNG-UP) separation. As this is new, information model and related protocols are under research for a long time in several small groups. Based on these research points, we have formed a small design team named CUSPDT(CU-separated-protocol design team) aiming at resolving protocol based problems on CU-separated BNG. Anyway, it's not an offical design team. And it's very shy to appear to you for the first time :)

The only team rules is that: Everyone is welcome to join our design team sharing opinions and suggestions.

Below, I list all the related drafts while there are two new drafts contributed by the design team. One is the requirement of CU-separated-protocols and another is the deployment model of CU-separated BNG in the real network.

Requirements of the protocols between CP and UP.

CU-separated BNG device deployment model

Recently, there are other related drafts submitted before the design team constructed.

Architecture of CU-separated BNG device referring to BBF cloud co

The information model standardized in BNG information model draft

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-wcg-i2rs-cu-separation-infor-model/Due to our research and trial, we have found out that there are several information

VXLAN-GPE extension for BNG devices

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-huang-nvo3-vxlan-gpe-extension-for-vbng/

YANG datamodel for CU and UP interface

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-hu-rtgwg-cu-separation-yang-model/

We hope that authors from all these related drafts and others who are interested in this can work together though the design team CUSPDT.

BTW. CUSPDT can be Conneted all the time. And it's Unique. We need a Sage like you. Let's start this work with Passion!

Best regards.
