We are not defining a stardard protocol. We are defining a standard programming interface that applications and dlls can use on a MS Windows-?? machine. > >Also, are we talking about a WINSOCK API? The WinSnmp api is patterned off of the WinSock API. The WinSnmp Dll may use Winsock Api but that is an implementation issue. I would expect that if the snmp engine is a seporate dll from the TCP/IP dll then WinSock will be used. At this time the supplier of the TCP/IP and SNMP engine will probably be the same vendor. > >Thanks, > >Ed Alcoff >Product Line Manager >The Wollongong Group, Inc. > > >P.S. - sorry for the dual posting; isn't it about >time we considered merging the two mail lists? > %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% John F.
