ATM Mibbers,

Some more info on this BOF next week.

- The Bellcore strawman proposal that I predicted
  took a while to get out. Masuma Ahmed will send it 
  out to this list.
  It still has several holes in it, but will give
  us enough straw to talk about.
  For interested folks, the ATM Forum's ILMI
  has served as a basis for most of it. Some issues
  still open include:
  - Interface indexing (relationship ifIndex, ifType
    with VPI/VCI indices). Related to that a pointer
    mechanism to figure out MIB modules needed to manage
    the interface is not included
  - Most of the current stuff focusses on the local
    portion of a VPC or VCC; end-to-end stuff is not
    included at this time (some discussion on the FR MIB
    could be relevant here)
  - AAL stuff is still to be provided.

- Some folks suggested to also spend some time during
  this BOF on the SONET MIB, since ATM will be running
  over SONET in several environments. Thats fine with
  me, but my preference would be to focus most of the
  time on ATM. I'll prepare a short presentation on the
  SONET MIB. We can then discuss how to move that forward.
  It has been simmering as Internet-Draft for quite a while
  (draft-ietf-cox-sonetmib-01.txt).
  I have stuffed this item in the agenda (attached)

- Of course, any comments/discussion prior to the BOF
  via this list would be most useful. To avoid many
  crosspostings, just use for now the list in the "To:" clause
  of this message. If you want to be included in the list,
  send me mail directly. With sufficient interest on the list
  and at the BOF we can set up a dedicated mailing address
  for this purpose.
