I have been looking for source code for developing SNMP based
applications. I've used archie a lot, and it is still quite difficult
to find things. WHat good does the date of a directory called "snmp" do
me? I have no idea what version something REALLY is. I've also perused
the Simple Times, but I have been finding old/obsolete info. It has
been frustrating. Is there a WAIS server for SNMP? A FAQ?

I am looking for definitive sites, containing the master copies.
(I'd also settle for secondary archives, but there are so many and I
don't know which ones are kept up-to-date.)
Here are my questions:

Are there manual pages for the API of the MIT snmp code?
Is there a SNMPv2 version? Where is the latest MIT-snmp version?
It's not allspice.lcs.mit.edu:/pub/snmp.tar.Z

Where are the ISODE SNMP versions archived?

Where is the latest MOSY compiler? I found
	/networking/osi/isode/isode-snmp.tar.Z
on ftp.uu.net. It seems to be the 6.0 version. There is the file:
	/networking/osi/isode/snmp-upgrade*
which is a patch file, but it doesn't match the above package.
I assume it patches the 7.0 version. Grr.

According to some recent document, the following directory was suppose to
contain code:
	ics.uci.edu:/mrose/isode-snmpV2/

The directory was empty.

So far I found the following primary sources of useful code:

dnpap.et.tudelft.nl:/pub/btng

	Contains:
		RMON for OS/2
Tricklet (Perl-based SNMP tool for Unix or OS/2)
nic.nikhef.nl:~ftp/pub/monet/monet-0.10.tar.Z
	Xmonet network monitoring tools
ftp.synoptics.com:/eng/mibcompiler/src.tar.Z
	SMIC - MIB Compiler
lancaster.andrew.cmu.edu:/pub/smp-dist/snmp2.0.1.tar*
	CMU SNMPv2 source
munnari.OZ.AU:pub/cmu-mu-snmp1.5.tar.Z
	MIB-II enhancements to CMU's SNMPv1 API
ncgia.ucsb.edu:pub/etc/xsnmp21.tar.Z
xsnmp - X-windows based snmp program.
cs.ubc.ca:/pub/local/src/snacc
SNACC - MIB compiler with MIB-II Macros and C, C++ BER routines.
venera.isi.edu:/ftp/mib	various
	Public MIBS
ftp.cisco.com:
	MIBS for CISCO routers
ftp.synoptics.com:/eng/mibcompiler/mibs.tar.Z -
	Public MIBS

Send me e-mail and I'll summarize.... Thanks.
