Dear WG, This email is to provide further information on the changes to Sec. 7 and 9 in draft-ietf-spring-srv6-srh-compression-04. The new text in Sec. 7 describes how a C-SID compliant SR source node may turn an uncompressed segment list comprising C-SID flavored SIDs into a compressed segment list. An uncompressed segment list may contain a combination of NEXT-C-SID and REPLACE-C-SID flavored SIDs, but also any other SID defined in other documents (e.g., RFC 8986). Compression of sequences of NEXT-C-SID flavored SIDs and sequences of REPLACE-C-SID flavored SIDs are described. The new text in Sec. 9 clarifies that an SR source node requires SID structure information to perform the compression of a segment list provided in uncompressed format. Thanks, Francois (on behalf of the C-SID co-authors) On Tue, Apr 4, 2023 at 7:00 PM Francois Clad <fclad.ietf@gmail.com> wrote: > Dear WG, > > > > This revision includes significant text changes following the continuous > and very constructive feedback that we received from many WG participants. > > > > A summary of the changes is provided below.
