A new set of Goals and Milestones has just been posted to the storm WG charter page on the IETF web site:

Nov 2011 Working Group Last Call on RDDP registries draft
Nov 2011 Submit RDDP registries draft to IESG for consideration as a Standards Track document
Nov 2011 Working Group Last Call on iSER update draft
Dec 2011 Submit combined iSCSI draft and iSCSI new features draft to
IESG for consideration as Standards Track documents
Dec 2011 Working Group Last Call on iSCSI MIB update draft
Jan 2012 Submit iSER draft to IESG for consideration as a Standards Track document
Feb 2012 Submit iSCSI MIB draft to IESG for consideration as a Standards Track document
Feb 2012 Working Group Last Call on RDMA Protocol Extensions draft
May 2012 Submit RDMA Protocol Extensions draft to IESG for consideration as a Standards Track document

The WG Last Call on the RDDP registries draft is in progress - the intent is to make any required revisions and submit it for RFC publication during the IETF meeting week in Taipei (week of November 13). The WG Last Call on the iSER update draft will start shortly after the completion of the WG Last Call on the RDDP registries draft.

Submission of the iSCSI drafts to the IESG has been pushed out to December for a couple of reasons:

(1) There's still at least one open issue against the new features (SAM) draft that requires list discussion and will probably require a revised draft. The main iSCSI draft and the new features draft normatively cross-reference each other, and hence have to be submitted together.

(2) The publication submission will need to be accompanied by some iSCSI tutorial/explanatory material to help other IETF reviewers focus on what's new and important to review in the 300+ page consolidated iSCSI draft. Additional time is being allotted to figure out what's needed and pull it together.

The time period between Feb and May of 2012 for the RDMA Protocol Extensions draft is to enable use of a possible storm WG meeting at IETF in Paris next year (end of March) to resolve any WG Last Call issues that need a meeting. That'll also be the timeframe in which consideration will be given to recharter the storm WG to undertake additional work vs. just complete the current program of work and shut the WG down after the RFCs are published.

Thanks,
--David
