Your choice of variables doesn't match the document, so I was confused for a
bit.

I think you mean, that to replace:

  The RECOMMENDED method to create a class ID is: Class ID =
   UUID5(Vendor ID, Class-Specific-Information)

with:
   Vendor_UUID = uuid.uuid5(uuid.PEN_NAMESPACE_UUID, PEN))

and I'm good with that, and I should have read the entire thread before
suggesting the same thing.
