I doubt if WGs can or should stick around without specific
work objectives.

We'll need an implementation (preferably 2). I'm not competent to
do one, but I'd like to co-operate with someone who is. I am
interested in adding X.509-based authentication and encryption.
I've done it by modifying the Telnet code that supported the
previous encryption option proposal but that is now defunct.
