[Tmrg] An NS2 TCP Evaluation Tool Suite V0.2 release announcement

Dear colleagues,
 

We are happy to announce that a new release of 'An NS2 TCP Evaluation Tool V0.2'

is now available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpeval. It aims at saving TCP 

researchers' time and effort spent on NS2 simulation. In this release, we have got lots 

of help from the researchers around the world. Please go on contributing to the project 

by helping us to make the tool more useful.

 

Here is a  brief introduction,




The first version V0.1 was released last April. The goal is to allow researchers to 

evaluate their proposed TCP extensions quickly and easily  in NS2 simulators using a 

common set of well-defined, standard test cases, in order to compare and contrast 

proposals against standard TCP as well as other proposed modifications. 

 

A TMRG face to face meeting to decide some common scenarios was held at Caltech last 

November. And a paper "Towards a Common TCP Evaluation Suite" was published in 

PFLDnet08. The release V0.2 includes the scenarios in the paper.
