When I wrote that it wasn’t an implicit suggestion but the alternative of IPA horrifies me so much that I will now explicitly suggest this for the following reasons:

- no need to learn IPA
- pronunciation guaranteed to be correct
- low friction mechanism for participants if the technology is done correctly
- could be used to train transcription mechanisms inserting a name when someone introduces themself

I’d like to hear what people don’t like about it.
