No, the SMP manager is not bi-lingual.  In the ideal, a completely
transparent proxy would be great.  However, the mapping between SNMP ->
SMP is not without loss of information.  For example, if you get back a
noSuchName, you don't know whether to map it into an exception (or even
which exception).  Even if you could, what do you do about the other
varbinds.
