I was objecting to the inclusion of "descriptive names" as MIB variables. I have no objection to semantic descriptions being included in MIB documentation, or indeed as comments in the ASN.1 source of the MIB itself. "Descriptive names", or whatever people choose to call them, do not, to my mind, belong in the MIB as discrete variables to be set and got. Tony.
