I am not an author.

Given that large number of authors it might be possible to go with a
schema of 2 authors whose names appear on the frontpage and the others
to be Contributors listed too but not on the front page.

The authors on the frontpage could be Editors.

I think it should be possible to let open the possibility to have more
than 10 authors in the Contributors.  Maybe they would be called
Authors, not just Contributors, if that is more inline with their
expectations.
