It's a lot easier to deploy IPv6 in a working IPv4 network than to set up a green field. The thing is: how long do you want to run IPv4 after you need it? If you're going to translate IPv4 at the edge anyway, it doesn't matter so much what you're translating from. You can simplify your own network now.
