Oh, and 3 persons repeatedly stating something when everyone else has
given up and gone home for the evening make consensus?

Please.  Quite a number of "real world" operators have spoken in favour
of having NAT-alikes in their tool box here in the past (and were usually
being yelled at for being so stupid and having no idea about True Ivory
Tower Networking).  So, yes, seems they all have gone away now - but
that does not make their prior statements less valid.
