"IPv6-only" tends to be a heavily interpreted term. In many instances the
term "IPv6-only" been defined as "the absence of IPv4", much more than that
is applying subjective and circumstantial attributes. Of course, this
definition is also subjective as many operating environments do not allow
for the disabling of the IPv4 stack. In the cases I work with, it has been
defined as "The absence of IPv4 for anything but communication internal to
an isolated system", which allows for an IPv4 stack to exist but not
communicate outside of a single system. Even this is a difficult task. Once
the external translation mechanisms get tossed into the mix the whole
conversation changes.
