Given the insanity of modern NICs, I have no doubt it could filter about
everything the host want to see :-)

(Shall I say "LLDP agent inside the NIC that you can't easily get rid of"?)

But seriously - given that the amount of multicast traffic that goes 
to a group address is totally negilible compared to the amount of 
"TO ALL!" traffic caused by netbios, bonjour, ... - and that we do not
really have 10 Mbit NICs anymore, I still maintain that this was one
of the IPv6 "improvements" where unintended side effects by far outweigh
the small benefits.
