Putting local IPv4 addresses(RFC1918) in the DNS, ideally in a local view,
is quite common, especially in enterprise environments. I would expect ULA
IPv6 addressed in the DNS, ideally in a local view again, to become
commonplace, if/when enterprise adoption of IPv6 by enterprises becomes
commonplace.

So, yes it won’t work very well over the Internet, but that’s the intent,
or in other words that’s a feature, not bug, for those doing such a thing.
