Dear Hemant,

For that case, we are considering:

* Enable a UPnP IGD/PCP Interworking function as specified for instance in: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-bpw-pcp-upnp-igd-interworking-02

* Just like current port forwarding in existing CPEs, we are envisaging to allow the configuration of port mappings using a User Interface. This will trigger PCP messages to be sent to the PCP Server controlling the DS-Lite AFTR.

For those who want to play with the PCP Client UI and IGD/PCP IWF, we made a code available at: http://opensourceaplusp.weebly.com/.

Hope this answers your question.

Cheers
Med

Reinaldo,

Thanks, understood. However, my question to the DS-Lite folks is still not answered because I was told by them that DS-Lite needs PCP. So then I asked what if the Windows host behind the CE router does not support a PCP client, then what is the PCP server/proxy inside the CE router do for DS-Lite?

Thus my question is still un-answered.

Hemant

If windows does not implement PCP Client then the option is to implement:

- UPnP/NAT-PMP - PCP IWF

http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-bpw-pcp-upnp-igd-interworking-02

I mean, assuming there is an application that wants to open ports.

Thanks,

Reinaldo
