Hello! A guide to speaking about the IETF developed some time ago [1] has been recently updated and posted to the IETF Chairs wiki so I wanted to share it with this list: https://chairs.ietf.org/speaking.md It is not yet linked from elsewhere on the site to provide a chance for feedback. However, tt soon will be linked, so suggestions are encouraged and may be sent directly to me at ghwood@staff.ietf.org Two items I want to highlight since the are at the bottom of the page: 1. If you are approached (in person or online) to speak to the media about an IETF issue, you should never feel compelled to respond immediately and can refer inquiries to: media@ietf.org. Email to that address gets responses w/in 24 hours. Experienced reporters understand that requests are often routed for coordination before a response. 2. If you know about in advance or are frequently approached with opportunities to speak with the media about IETF-related issues, please feel free to let me know. I am happy to provide support and assistance (understanding that often someone’s employer will have a similar capability and interest). Please let me know if I can provide any additional information. Thanks, -Greg [1] The initial version was developed during the IANA Stewardship transition (https://www.ianacg.org/) when media interest in the IETF and related organizations was at a high point.
