Subject: E-mail survey: one example of label use
Hallo Stef,
>Hello Claudio -- You did not show the full name as it will appear in
>actrual use,
here is an example:
admd-garr.ORX400.it. IN XA 10 admd-garr.c-it#it
>so I may not be clear on where it will be seen, if ewver, by end-users.
>(I think it is never seen by end-users, only by EMail Router Programs.)
correct, end users will never see it, it is just seen by DNS and the API for
e-mail routing programs and gateways.
>I suggest ORX400 (or ORX4 if string length is critical).
OK, I add this to the list of proposals.
>After all, this is dealing only with X.400 O/R address mappings, is it
>not?
yes, it is intendeed for rfc1327 mapping tables... but ... mmmh one could
also think to use it more in general... yes. But the name itself is just
a label, like in-addr.arpa...
regards!
Claudio
