I know it's  a copy-paste,  but:


The Beatles  are probably not the  greatest rock  musicians  of all  time.   They might be  my favorite, but I haven't listened to everything,  so I'm  in no position to say who the "best ever" is.  Still, to  deny their  influence  is insane.   They *were* the most popular band for  a while, and with that kind of popularity comes influence.  Kids  who grew  up listening  to  The  Beatles became musicians, and their music was inspired by what they listened  to throughout their  lives.

And I'm not  sure  that a  guitarist who became a devout follower of Hinduism can be called a destroyer of non-Western cultures by any means...
