ken rfc1284 has the no objects marked as deprecated. the problem is that the (paraphrased) definition of the DEPRECATED status is "currently mandatory but may eventually disappear". what this means is that all of the objects which we worked to delete from the mib have not been deleted. they are still there and still must be implemented. in other words, the items will be there for another 6 months... i think that people have had plenty of time to be aware that these objects are going away. the decision that the objects were not needed was made in san diego -- 3 or 4 months ago. i think that there is ample warning. -- frank kastenholz
