Dear all,

In the general line of introducing FEC to SCHC, we have submitted a draft on a new type of rule - FEC Fragment Rule.
It allows for the transport of FEC information relative to an ongoing fragmentation, without modifying the fragmentation itself.

We'd like to present it during our next interim.

Cheers,
The authors

Title: SCHC Rule Format for Forward Error Correction (FEC) in Fragmentation
Date: 2024-09-09
Group: Individual Submission

Abstract:

This document defines a new Rule Format for Forward Error Correction
(FEC) of SCHC Fragments. It is backwards compatible with RFC8724, as
an implementation which does not have the necessary FEC code
implementations can simply ignore the messages with this new RuleID
format.
