Subject: NIR Report needs final review

The final draft of the NIR status report on NIR (networked information
retrieval tools and groups) is available for final review before being
submitted as an RFC.

At the NIR WG meeting at the last IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force),
one person volunteered to take a couple of the templates as an independent
reviewer - if others would volunteer to do likewise. This was felt to be a
good idea.

What I need therefore is a set of volunteers. Please mail me as to whether
you would be able to review 2 or 3 templates over the next two weeks and to
liaise with the template contributors on how (if at all) their templates
should be modified/updated. (Please also give preference for templates to
review - although I may not be able to give everyone their preferred
templates of course.)

The report is available from the IETF draft directories (dec 93 version)

and from: ftp://mailbase.ac.uk/pub/lists/nir/files/nir.status.report

(Also available via gopher and WWW to mailbase.ac.uk)

Whilst this report has been reviewed extensively over the past few months,
comments on any section of the report are welcome.

Cheers - Jill
