As a co-author of the draft, I fully support its publication. In my humble opinion, it remains a relevant research topic and will serve as a clear supporting reference for further research in network management. Dear NMRG participants,

NMRG chairs would like to assess the research group consensus on moving forward with the RFC publication process for draft-irtf-nmrg-network-digital-twin-arch-11 - Network Digital Twin: Concepts and Reference Architecture - https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-irtf-nmrg-network-digital-twin-arch/11

A previous version (v8) underwent a last call one year ago but we received limited feedback.
So, please share your assessment on the mailing list including details to support and justify your statement.

We are particularly interested in assessing the following aspects:

1. Scope:

  *           Are the problem statements, research questions, or challenges clear, well-described and well-articulated?
  *           Is the scope enough defined and focused? Is the problem still relevant to the research community (/to the industry)?

2. Contribution and impact:

  *           Does the content of the document address well the scope?
  *           Will this contribution create impact to further research and activities in NMRG and in the whole network management community?
  *           Is the content complete enough? What may be missing? What may be beyond/out of scope?
  *           Are the quality and depth good enough? (scientific proposition or analysis, rigor of the method, impact…)
  *           Is the work mature and stable enough? e.g. by capturing a fair and contemporary assessment of the research topic

Please let us know if you think this document is ready to proceed for publication or if it needs further discussions and refinement.
This work is essential to set a baseline and help to frame research directions on the network digital twin theme. Therefore, the chairs recommend the research group to devote enough attention and time to review this work and work towards the best possible outcome.

Review deadline is set to 25 January 2026. Earlier feedback is highly encouraged.
