Gee, I don't recall suggesting any protocol, let alone something like 
SMTP.

Isn't the philosophy of the IETF now to have two separate implementations
of a protocol before accepting a proposal for that protocol?

I ask again about CPAP. Palladium I've seen, a little. As far as the other
document delivery service, well that sounds interesting, but does it
fall within the scope of this group?

Do we need to start over again? 

Are the original goals of this group in alignment with the current
members?
