A Revised Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories. This draft is a work item of the Internet Mail Extensions
Working Group of the IETF.

       Title : SMTP Service Extensions
       Author(s) : J. Klensin, N. Freed, M. Rose,
                   E. Stefferud, D. Crocker
       Filename : draft-ietf-smtpext-extensions-04.txt
       Pages : 13
       Date : 05/08/1995

This memo defines a framework for extending the SMTP service by defining a
means whereby a server SMTP can inform a client SMTP as to the service
extensions it supports. Extensions to the SMTP service are registered with
the IANA. This framework does not require modification of existing SMTP
clients or servers unless the features of the service extensions are to be
requested or provided.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-smtpext-extensions-04.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

For questions, please mail to Internet-Drafts@cnri.reston.va.us.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
