I also think the assumption that engineers and artists are different, non-communicating groups is unwarranted. I play piano. A lot of my colleagues in the IETF play an instrument. I also really enjoy singing in a chorus, and have literally broken into tears looking at certain amazing paintings in the Musee D'Orsay, although I will admit that I don't go to art museums very often. My point being that if you want to start a conversation about how similar we are, it may be better not to start out from the perspective that we are somehow divided. :)
