Hello,

In case anyone is interested in donating Marriott (or other hotel points) to those affected by hurricane Sandy, I called Marriott this morning to learn a little more information than what their email provided.

They have donation levels of points that start at a fairly low amount and the high end, 180,000 points results in a $1000 donation to the American Red Cross.
The other option is to grant points to a specific person/family who can use the free hotel nights.

I grew up on Long Island, so I know many people affected and the help would be greatly appreciated. Many people lost everything, some lost the first floor of their home and one or more cars, and some were luckier. The area is devastated, same for New Jersey.

Since many of you travel on a high frequency, I thought this information may be of interest as a way to help.

Thank you!
Kathleen
