This is also a good way if ACME is soon to be used to issue code signing certs. Then acme-device-attest can be used to ensure the private key has been generated on a FIPS 140-2 level 3 device as required by the CAB/F forum.

I have the MRTD draft that im going to soon go publish, but im gonna wait until dns-persist-01 is out to sync things a bit better, and hopefully this device-attest can go together with that standard to make automatic issuance of code signing certs a thing.
