Hi!

The use of AI is already and will continue to change the IETF standards process.  It has changed how drafts are written; redefined the workload of reviewers and how feedback is provided; altered how engagement occurs on the mailing list; and shifted the meaning of running-code. 

At the IETF 126 Plenary, the IESG promised to convene facilitated forums to enable the community to discuss the uses of AI in the IETF standards process.  The first of those forums was this mailing list (ai-in-standards@ietf.org) [1].

To continue the discussion on AI in our standards process, a dedicated GENAREA session will be held at IETF 127.  This note is a call for agenda items for this session.  Send me (chair@ietf.org) agenda requests.

Please propose agenda items that explore AI use in the IETF standards process such as the following:

* highlight practices that enhance the standards process with AI

* identify how the standards process is being challenged and/or needs to evolve due to AI

Presentations based on drafts are welcome but a draft is not required.  This session is not  intended to run a dispatch process on presented drafts.

Measurement talks or studies may be accommodated, but there is appreciation that many such talks already occur in IRTF RASPRG [2].

Effort will be made to structure an agenda to allow meaningful engagement on the various topics(s), rather than maximizing the number of presentations during the session.  Future sessions may be held depending on the engagement and interest.
