Colleagues,

I've received a request to assist with publication of a document specifying
S-expressions. We currently have draft-rivest-sexp in the repository.

This was presented at DISPATCH and recommended for handling outside of the
iETF. The ISE reviewed the document and has declined to process it. Since
we have five standards track RFCs that base some of their syntaxes on
S-expressions, it would seem having a stable reference for it to support
future work would be a good idea, so I'm considering sponsoring it.

If anyone would like to make an argument that it should really be done via
a working group, we also have the option to charter a tightly-scoped
working group that might only ever meet a couple of times to get it done.

The document is marked as seeking Informational status, but if someone
wants to argue it should really be on the standards track, that's also
something I'd like to hear about.

Thanks,

-MSK, ART AD
