Dear AUDIT people, we just submitted an update to the audit arch I-D. The update addressed PRs raised as a response to the side-meeting in Vienna. These are tracked here github: https://github.com/mirjak/draft-audit-architecture/. Several issues that are still open require further input and corresponding discussion to be actionable in a PR. Please find the release notes for the current submission here: https://github.com/mirjak/draft-audit-architecture/releases/tag/draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture-01. Several of older issues are not addressed yet and we think it's a good path forward to triage them here on the list. Please have a look. Complementary work also proceeds. The first record format as captured by the current audit charter (https://github.com/mirjak/audit-bof-preparation) is moving forward to find a home in the vCon WG (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-birkholz-verifiable-agent-conversations/) As we never stop to progress work that seems to be viable route. Please comment, if you on that trajectory - that is really useful input. Based on your input, we are adjusting the deliverables towards profiling existing audit record formats - putting an emphasis on IETF work re-use and not on reinventing some representation. As a result, the scope of the envisioned AUDIT is focusing on data formats that are not covered by currently adopted Internet-Drafts. We are looking forward to your input and thank you all for the tremendous amount on inputs for an AUDIT BoF scope. Your feedback is really appreciated. If you see your input/comment/issue as not addressed, please highlight your contribution to this list for prioritization. Name: draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture Revision: 01 Title: An Architecture for Auditing Agent Delegation and Interactions Date: 2026-09-07 Group: Individual Submission Pages: 24 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture-01.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture/ HTML: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture-01.html HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-kuehlewind-audit-architecture-01 Abstract: This document describes an architecture for auditing of agent-driven interactions on the Internet. Autonomous and semi-autonomous software agents, including those based on artificial intelligence, increasingly act on behalf of users, organizations, and services. Existing auditing mechanisms often capture isolated system events but do not consistently represent delegation relationships, user intent, or evolving authorization. In agent-driven systems, auditability requires linking intent, delegation, authorization, and execution. The proposed architecture enables this through distributed audit record generation, propagation of audit context, optional attestation, and additional logging for transparency. The IETF Secretariat
