Hello BIER WG,

We have submitted an update to the Segmented BIER MVPN document. Here is a summary of the changes.

(1) add more cases of Upstream BIER + Downstream P2MP/IR, or Upstream P2MP/IR + Downstream BIER.
(2) more examples on LIR-pF explicit-tracking for Segmented BIER MVPN, and forwarding on segmentation point(ABR) for the various cases.
(3) summary and recommendations for using LIR-pF and IP lookup for Segmented BIER MVPN deployment.
(4) change 'BIER FEC' to 'MVPN FEC'.

We look forward to your input, comments, and review of document.

Thanks
Jingrong

A new version of I-D, draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented-02.txt
has been successfully submitted by Jingrong Xie and posted to the IETF repository.

Name: draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented
Revision:	02
Title: Segmented MVPN Using IP Lookup for BIER
Document date:	2018-08-14
Group: Individual Submission
Pages: 13
URL: https://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented-02.txt
Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented/
Htmlized: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented-02
Htmlized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented
Diff: https://www.ietf.org/rfcdiff?url2=draft-xie-bier-mvpn-segmented-02

Abstract:
This document specifies an alternative of the control plane and data
plane procedures that allow segmented MVPN using BIER. It allows the
use of the more efficient LIR-pF explicit-tracking for segmented MVPN
deployment when BIER is used as the upstream or downstream segments.
It requires a segmentation point BFR doing an IP header lookup, which
is common for the forwarding procedure on BFER, or the forwarding
procedure on ABR with local VPN CEs connected. This document updates
   [I-D.ietf-bier-mvpn].

Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org.
