We have the "technology" to do this today. It is called "customer
prefix filtering", but it doesn't happen because for one reason
or another a number of operators are unable to implement it.

My point is that the current paradigm (which is for real, whether we
like it or not) has a gaping hole in it: the infamous EGP->IGP->EGP
redistribution chain, where information which is vital for consistent
behaviour can and will be lost. I'm looking for a way to plug that hole.
