Hi,

I do not think it was a good idea to use ".sid" as the file extension for
these JSON files.
IMO the extension ".json" is the correct file extension for this media type.
The .sid extension is already associated with binary audio and video files.
https://extension.nirsoft.net/sid

There is no ".sid" file extension associated with a media type and
registered with IANA.
RFC 9595 mentions ".sid" file 97 times, but there is no normative
specification of
a YANG SID filename.

A YANG file is associated with the application/yang media type and ".yang"
extension.
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6020#section-14.1

The YANG SID file extension should be registered with IANA and be
standardized (like YANG).
I would prefer just using application/json and .json file extension:
https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/json

The important thing is that there be one file extension that MUST be
accepted by all conformant tools.
The .sid extension is not formally defined, and support for it is not
mandatory.
