OK. This limits COMI applicability to constrained devices in the sense
of a few 100k of memory or devices living on rather limited links.

I am interested in IoT devices that are able to run an embedded Linux
inside. So I am then probably more interested in using RESTCONF with
CBOR encoding since my devices are not that memory limited and I fear
the pain of a global single number managed in a decentralized way will
raise development pain. (So I would love to use CBOR without SID.)
Well, perhaps even RESTCONF with JSON is just good enough (clearly
more attractive for application writers).
