Hi,

Thank you Pascal!

The changes resolve the main comments in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/fcu_Mt2jLKGVw8HCjQUpVO7JUF0/, where I pointed out that there is good text and statements about the RAW API.
The suggestions incorporated in v17 and proposed in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/YXZY8qz9YPorssVjlQQ0Yaiozi4/ and in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/_qr-Cx2L_lSSk1PBG29Uguw9ZBM/ elaborate more on the RAW API and suppress the term PAREO.
v17 also includes a new figure: Figure 3 on the wireless layer and DetNet sub-layers (https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-raw-architecture-17.html#FigLayers) as contributed in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/N2hulKhouaRt3Jvirp2KSvH3-RA/.
v17 also includes a contribution updating the definition of ARQ: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/xSaSDZMA-qNLg3ApeJnuAG1JBPU/
Furthermore, v17 addresses most of the nit comments in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/detnet/fcu_Mt2jLKGVw8HCjQUpVO7JUF0/

Comments are welcome of course.

I expect the draft to be on the agenda of IETF 119.

Regards,
Janos

Dear all:

Per Janos' suggestion and proposed changes, we published this new version below.

Janos may comment on the changes, mostly suppressing the term PAREO in favor of insisting on the necessary API to lower layers.

all the best

Pascal

A new version of Internet-Draft draft-ietf-raw-architecture-17.txt has been
successfully submitted by Pascal Thubert and posted to the
IETF repository.

Name: draft-ietf-raw-architecture
Revision: 17
Title: Reliable and Available Wireless Architecture
Date: 2024-03-04
Group: detnet

Abstract:

Reliable and Available Wireless (RAW) provides for high reliability
and availability for IP connectivity across any combination of wired
and wireless network segments. The RAW Architecture extends the
DetNet Architecture and other standard IETF concepts and mechanisms
to adapt to the specific challenges of the wireless medium, in
particular intermittently lossy connectivity. This document defines
a network control loop that optimizes the use of constrained spectrum
and energy while maintaining the expected connectivity properties,
typically reliability and latency. The loop involves DetNet
Operational Plane functions, with a new recovery Function and a new
Point of Local Repair operation, that dynamically selects the DetNet
path(s) for the future packets to route around local degradations and
failures.
