Hello, Margaret:

I want to set up one backup dhcp server, which may not work simultaneously
with master server. Only after the master server is down,or I made some
configurations, the backup server will work. Here the communication between
two servers may be not required.

Has such a mechanism be fulfilled in DHCP protocol or current OS? My server
may be of Redhat or SLES. If it is fulfilled, where do you think i should
get more details about that?

Thanks a lot for any response!

Steven Wang
