I believe you, and I am quite aware that UW is not the only university
with a governance model based on that of the Holy Roman Empire. (I
went to Yale which was like that, too.)

On the other hand, whether or not we like it, the DNS is a tree, and if an
organization's DNS structure doesn't match their management structure, there
is no way to tell from the outside and it's up tp them to sort it out.
