This document is the product of the Domain Name System Operations Working
Group.

Technical Summary

   This document describes a method for automatic DNS zone provisioning
   among DNS primary and secondary nameservers by storing and
   transferring the catalog of zones to be provisioned as one or more
   regular DNS zones.

Working Group Summary
  
  This document has been in development for many years, and has been widely implemented and deployed.
  There was very little controversy, and the WG support was good. 
  The document has 7 authors (more than the recommended 5); this is intentional, as all made significant contributions.
   

Document Quality

   Appendix A points out there are several implementations that interact successfully. 
   These include: Knot DNS 3.1, PowerDNS version 4, BIND 9
