ForCES Meeting Summary
Held Monday March 18, 2002 1300-1500 at IETF 53.

The ForCES meeting at IETF 53 received a presentation
by Howard Berkowitz from BMWG and reviewed ForCES
working group requirements, applicability statement,
a proposed framework WG deliverable, and several
individual contributions. BMWG has terminology that
may be common to ForCES and relevant drafts that should
be reviewed and will be sent to the list. Three open
issues were identified with the requirements: High
availability, closeness/locality, and capability
exchange. Last call of the requirements is
expected very soon and these issues are to be
addressed asap. The applicability statement is
expected to be kept open until at least a model
is done. The framework presented was compelling
and the working group consensus was that a framework
deliverable should be added to the charter. Other
drafts included the Netlink informational draft
(track to Linux 2.4.6, last call expected July'02)
and model and protocol drafts (early work - review
and collaboration invited).
