All, I've seen several comments supporting inclusion of these requirements as a working group document. Barring some strong arguments against doing so, I intend to go ahead and have this document become associated with the ForCES working group some time tomorrow. Note that acceptance as a working group document merely associates this document with the ForCES WG. It does not grant any formal standard status to the document and the document will remain open to change or removal. Cheers, David -----Original Message----- From: Putzolu, David Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2001 9:45 AM To: 'forces@peach.ease.lsoft.com' Subject: Two drafts posted - Please review requirements as potential WG document All, Two drafts have just been posted to the ID archive: Requirements for Separation of IP Control and Forwarding http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-anderson-forces-req-02.txt Netlink as an IP Services Protocol http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-forces-netlink-00.txt The Netlink draft is informational material that is prior art relevant to ForCES. The Requirements draft is intended to eventually become a standards track RFC to be used in guiding us in the ForCES effort. During the last IETF meeting it was decided that a design team would be formed to issue a new requirements draft. That draft would be based on the two alternative requirements proposals that had been made. The revision above is that new draft. Per the minutes of the last meeting, we are asking the list to review and comment whether this document is ready to be accepted as a ForCES working group document or not. Note that acceptance as a working group document merely associates this document with the ForCES WG. It does not grant any formal standard status to the document and the document will remain open to change or removal. Please submit your comments and recommendation as to whether this draft is ready to be a working group document to the mailing list by Wednesday, October 10th, 2001. Thanks, David & Patrick (forces wg co-chairs)
