I agree. There are lots of home routers that allow you to take a 
configuration backup, that can then be restored on a different device. I 
expect there to be quite a few knobs to set on the home ISP-facing router 
for instance, regarding firewall rules, port forwards etc.

So while I do not see this as an immediate homenet concern (homenet should 
for now focus on getting the automatic plug-and-play functions correct), 
going forward I do think it would be good to look into these issues.
